Look Up
Happy Superman Day to all who celebrate. April 18 marks the eponymous hero’s first comic book appearance in Action Comics #1 in 1938. To honor his 87th birthday, DC Studios has shared a behind-the-scenes teaser for James Gunn‘s upcoming Superman flick.
The featurette opens with James Gunn discussing the significance of Superman in his creative life. Co-CEO of DC Studios, Peter Safran, chimes in that Gunn has worked hard to bring this ambitious film to fruition. The cast adds that Superman represents hope. That’s something we sorely need right now.
Additionally, we’re blessed with new looks at our titular Kryptonian, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen, Guy Gardner, aka Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Rick Flag Sr. and Metamorpho.

Go Behind the Scenes
Here’s an understandably vague synopsis of the flick per Warner Bros. Discovery:
“Superman, DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”
Superman soars into theaters on July 11, 2025. Before you go, check out the behind-the-scenes look below.
