The Arrowverse crossovers just keep getting better! Deadline.com announced Superman and Lois Lane will join Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Batwoman in this year’s CW crossover event! Tyler Hoechlin will return as Superman and casting for Lois Lane will begin soon.
“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse. This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters.” – Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner, executive producers of Supergirl,

Hoechlin first appeared as Superman, a.k.a Clark Kent during Supergirl season two. His last appearance was for the season two finale to fight Kara a.k.a. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) after being brainwashed. Comicbook.com reports Superman on board for all three episodes and will be fighting side by side with his cousin.
As for Lois, well, we’ve heard her name quite a few times from the likes of James Olson (Mehcad Brooks) and Lois’ younger sister Lucy (Jenna Dewan) since the show premiered. So her presence was inevitable. And those are some big shoes to fill. Lois Lane has been brought to life by Margot Kidder and Amy Adams on the big screen. Terri Hatcher filled the role in the 1990’s series, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Hatcher also played the villain who brainwashed Superman in that Supergirl season two finale. And more recently, Erica Durance played Lois on Smallville. Durance now plays Alura Zor-El, Kara’s mother on Supergirl.
This is really exciting. The CW crossover is my favorite time of the year. I love watching the CW superheroes work together to defeat a common foe. I didn’t think anything could top last year’s crossover. Adding Superman to the team is a big deal for this super fan! Now if they could only get Batman on board.
The Arrowverse three night crossover event begins Sunday, December 9 with special episode of The Flash. The story continues on Arrow at it regular time on Monday, December 10. And concludes on Tuesday, December 11 on a special episode of Supergirl.
