Warner Brothers is releasing an extended edition of Suicide Squad, cue the surprise. I suppose this was inevitable after Superman v Batman Extended Cut released to better reviews than the theatrical version. Maybe this is Warner Brother’s new plan, release a substandard version for theater and release a better version for home viewing.
Look, I have a ton of problems with Suicide Squad which I will cover at another time, but it did very well at the box office taking in, at the time of posting, roughly $321 million domestically and $750 million when adding in the international. People love watching anti-heroes, and people love Joker and Harley. Not to mention, the marketing for this movie actually did a fantastic job, especially the trailers. This announcement trailer is no exception, now if the movie had only been as good as the trailers I would be more excited.
No word yet on how much will be added, Suicide Squad Extended Cut releases digitally November 15, and blu-ray on December 13.
