Struggle of Empires is a classic board game where 2-7 players assume the leadership of one of the seven European Major Powers of the 18th century. Over the course of three wars, players will decide whether to expand in Europe or take control of colonies in the Americas, Africa, and the Far Eastset.  Each player directs a Power’s military, economic, and political development to compete with their rival Powers. They will forge alliances, build armies and fleets, establish colonies, improve their economy, wage war, and manage unrest among their citizenry, hoping to accumulate the most victory points by game’s end.

Recently, Eagle-Gryphon Games published a new Deluxe version of Struggle of Empires. The Deluxe version has new art, a large and reimagined game board, high quality components, and a larger box with a complete storage solution. They also developed an updated rule book based on comments from the original designer, Martin Wallace, as well as fans of the game. 
 
I picked up a copy of the Deluxe version and read through the rules a few times. I then went on to the web (as I usually do) to watch some videos on how to play the game and help me understand how all the rules fit together. Well, there wasn’t much out there, so I decided to make my own videos to help others learn the game, hoping that they will better be able to enjoy what looks to be among the best of what this great hobby has to offer.
