“Something’s coming. It is almost here.” Stranger Things fans, it feels like we’ve been stuck in the Upside Down since 2019. While the wait for Season Four of the global phenomenon has been long and arduous, we were given a tiny morsel on Friday in the form of a sneak peek

This 30-second teaser opens with Dr. Brenner’s (Matthew Modine) voice, asking if Eleven is listening. There’s an amalgam of old footage with new scenes. Some of the latter includes Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) being subdued by dudes in business suits, Hopper (David Harbour) investigating something with a flaming gun and the core four boys (Finn WolfhardCaleb McLaughlinGaten MatarazzoNoah Schnapp) riding on their signature bikes.

But that’s not all! Inexplicably shirtless Steve (Joe Keery) has joined the chat. I’ll be quite cross if there isn’t at least one scene with Steve fawning over his adopted children. Thankfully, Robin (Maya Hawke) is back, and she joins our crew for some sci-fi shenanigans.

There’s also a (presumably) haunted mansion, a cheerleading sequence and a board game. What fun! So much is packed into those eight seconds of legitimately new footage.

Stranger Things Season Four has suffered a series of setbacks, no thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. While we don’t have a concrete premiere date, we do have a premiere year! You can watch the new sneak peek below.

Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Natalia DyerCharlie HeatonSadie Sink and Maya Hawke. Prepare to return to Hawkins when Season Four debuts in 2022, only on Netflix. Be sure to binge-watch the first three seasons in the meantime!
