Netflix’s released the Stranger Things season three final trailer on Thursday night and it looks way more intense than the first trailer.  Full of anticipation of not only the final battle that’s been teased for almost a year now, but also a reveal of who the new villain will be.

The original gang and some new friends are facing an old foe. That old foe says the Hawkins gang let ‘them’ in and now they have to let ‘them’ stay.  But Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) closed that gate in season one. So how did this old friend get away with living on the other side for so long. Well, it looks like it found a host in Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery), the bully from season two.  If that’s the case, then he’s been hard at work trying to bring the Upside Down, right side up into Hawkins.

What’s really cool and makes me really anxious is the battle at the mall. The kiddos are all hiding from what sounds like a large creature. Could it be a giant Demogorgon? Or something new?  Whatever the case, the gang is highly armed and ready to do whatever it takes to defeat this threat.

Stranger Things stars Brown, Montgomery, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Winona Ryder, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawkins, Priah Ferguson, Jake Busey, and Carey Elwes.

Netflix also released a synopsis for the third Stranger Things season:

“It’s 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and summer’s heating up. School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart. Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.”
