Steven Yeun has been making his mark on Hollywood these last few years. He has appeared in everything from the hit series The Walking Dead to stealing the scene in Jordan Peele‘s Nope. And to further show off his range as an actor, Yeun is looking to make the jump to one of the greatest franchises in the last twenty years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadline dropped the exclusive news today that Yeun may be taking a significant role in the upcoming film, Thunderbolts and possibly future MCU films.

Yeun would be joining Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen and Olga Kurylenko, who will be reprising their roles. Ayo Edebiri has been announced as joining the cast though her role has yet to be disclosed. Yeun’s connection to Thunderbolts isn’t connected to a specific character as of yet. But hopefully, with an official announcement of his involvement, we will also receive information on whom he will be portraying.

Jake Schreier is directing Thunderbolts from a script by Eric Pearson. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will be producing. Marvel has kept very hush on the story for the film. Fans have speculated it will be similar to the comics and follow a group of villains who take on jobs commissioned by the government. It is essentially the DC’s Suicide Squad. We do know that it is the film that will cap off phase five of the MCU, which kicked off with the recent release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Thunderbolts is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024. What role do you think Yeun will be taking on? Let us know your theories in the comments below and on social media!
