Fox’s last Wolverine film with Hugh Jackman, Wolverine 3, is starting to really take a strange direction. Earlier this week, they cast Richard E. Grant as an evil mad scientist, they’ve got Boyd Holbrook on as the main villain, who’s basically a security guard — and now they’ve got Stephen Merchant cast in a role.
You know, Stephen Merchant—the incredibly tall British writer/comedian that partners with Ricky Gervais on pretty much everything? That guy is now cast in Wolverine 3.
The news came out of Deadline who offered us absolutely no information on the casting except that it happened. We don’t even have a “best friend to Logan” or “wacky neighbor who witnesses a slaying” sort of description.
Just “The Office co-creator Stephen Merchant has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox’s Wolverine 3.”
For whatever reason, Fox is really keeping the details of this last Wolverine outing for Hugh Jackman super duper close to the chest.
