The motion poster shows two characters (gods), Ian McShane’s Mr. Wednesday and Cloris Leachman’s Zorya, standing pleasantly in a snowstorm. If those two names get you excited, you’re in for a real treat with the rest of the cast. American Gods has brought in the big guns with Gillian Anderson, Crispin Glover, Orlando Jones, Kristen Chenoweth just to name a few. Ricky Whittle, who was very good in The 100, is the relative newcomer playing Shadow Moon. Check out the rest of the amazing cast here.
This is the second poster depicting stormy weather. The first poster released had McShane and Whittle standing under dark skies.
The new show will premiere on Starz on Sunday, April 30 at 9:00 P.M. In American Gods, “the plot posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon, is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.”
