GLOVER-TUCKER

The cast for the Starz adaptation of the Neil Gaiman novel American Gods is turning out to be nothing short of stellar. In addition to having Bryan Fuller at the helm, Ricky Whittle (The 100) will be playing protagnonist Shadow Moon and Ian McShane will be playing the iconic Mr. Wednesday.

This week it was announced that Crispin Glover (Back to the Future, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie’s Angels) and Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom, Justified, Parenthood) have joined the cast. Glover will be playing Mr. World, the leader of the New Gods. Whereas McShane as Mr. Wednesday is the leader of the Old Gods

Jonathan Tucker will be playing the all important role of Low Key Lyesmith who met Shadow Moon in prison. He plays confidante and major influencer to Shadow. He gets Shadow ready for the post prison world and tends to spout philosophical observations.

Other castings for the show are Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Sean Harris as Mad Sweeney, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis and Bruce Langley as Technical Boy.

Shooting begins next week and the show is set to premiere in February 2017 and I could not be more excited!

In American Gods, the plot posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon, is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.
