Fans of Stargirl rise up! Your favorite teenage superhero will live to fight another day! As reported in Variety, the freshman series has been renewed for Season 2. However, Stargirl is moving from the DC Universe streaming service to The CW. So, Season 2 will be available exclusively on The CW and its digital platforms.
Stargirl focuses on teenager Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) as she moves to Blue Valley, Nebraska with her mother Barbara (Amy Smart). Courtney’s mother remarries Patrick Dugan (Luke Wilson). What transpires is a trip through time as Courtney joins the Justice Society of America and defeats formidable villains of days past.
Now, Stargirl made its grand debut on May 18th on DC Universe and May 19th on The CW. While streaming services don’t release viewership numbers, the show fared well on The CW amid its summertime programming. It averaged a 0.2 rating among the 18-49 demographic with over 1 million viewers per episode. According to Variety, Stargirl rose to the same numbers as a typical DC superhero series on The CW.
