STARGIRL Adds Two More Series Regulars

Updated on:

Stargirl is getting more friends (or enemies?). According to Deadline, two actors have joined the cast as series regulars alongside Brec Bassinger‘s titular hero. Yvette Monreal (Rambo 5: Last Blood) and Christopher James Baker (True Detective) have joined the DC Universe show.

Now, we know they’ve been cast but sadly know nothing about their roles. They’ve been cast as “undisclosed DC characters”, so they could be practically anyone. But, we do know that the plot of the show will involve Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl inspring “an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past”. Together she and the heroes will form the “very first” superhero team The Justice Society of America. We’re leaning towards these two actors becoming a hero and a villain – but you never know!

Stargirl was introduced to the comic book world in 1999 by pilot writer and executive producer Geoff Johns. He based the character off his younger sister, also named Courtney, who passed in an unfortunate airplane crash. Johns will be bringing his character to the streaming service with the help of Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. It’s currently unknown if this series will tie into the streaming service universe occupied by Titans, Doom Patrol, and Swamp Thing or be its own entity.

What do you think of the new cast members? Who do you think they’ll be playing? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more DC TV news. Stargirl will debut on DC Universe at an unknown date.
