Star Wars: The Last Jedi cast members appeared on The Graham Norton Show Friday. Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Gwendolin Christie and John Boyega talked about their experiences and delighted the audience with stories of secrets, camera tricks and casting.
Ridley charmed, as she tends to do, in telling the story of being cast in The Force Awakens. She was self-effacing and funny as she talked about how she thought she had to keep pitching herself to J.J. Abrams when she got the casting call. You can feel the nerves come back as she talks. It’s great.
But, the star of the interview was Mark Hamill. He talked about Star Wars being the ‘most expensive low budget movie ever made’ and how using the force just meant that they reversed the film. Then he did an hilarious approximation of the practical effects right there on the couch. That’s not to mention the pretty spot-on Harrison Ford impression, though brief, that he graced the audience with while talking about keeping the secret of who Luke’s true father was for The Empire Strikes Back.
