Fans who waited in the dreaded Hall H line at San Diego Comic Con just to see the Star Wars panel were treated to a fantastic Behind the Scenes reel which made the little hairs on everyone’s necks stand up. It was a touching clip, it was get-excited-now clip, it was….GAH! It made me cry and I wasn’t the only one.
There are some great quotes in here from Simon Pegg, J.J. Abrams and even one of the Stormtroopers said after his scene was over, “I can die now.” I’d feel the same way if I were in the movie!
In the reel, Mark Hamill said, “Everything has changed, but nothing’s changed,” referring to the practical effects and sets mixed with digital animation. And, Simon Pegg sums it up the best, “My whole life has led to this moment. I’m in heaven.”
Although, wait a minute Pegg, are you saying you’d take Star Wars over Star Trek? Hmmmm. Well, no matter the answer to that, my envy of Pegg and his turn in both franchises, shall be eternal.
Also, this movie. THIS MOVIE! Cannot wait.
By the way, at the end of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel, J.J. Abrams asked the audience, “Who wants to go see a live Star Wars concert right now?” What what??? And then Stormtroopers proceeded to lead everyone out of Hall H (over 6000 guests) to a secret concert location. Well played. You win San Diego Comic Con 2015.
