The slow goodbye begins. Star Wars: Episode IX has officially wrapped principal photography. Director and writer JJ Abrams shared the news with an emotional image to mark the end of an era.
Posted on his Twitter, Abrams shared an image of our (arguably) three leads. Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac all embrace in a hug, showing their strong bond over the three films. While we don’t know where all of their stories end up, we know that at least they’ll be together for the last ride. Abrams expressed his thanks to not only the actors but the entire crew who made the film possible. “It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all.”

The film is going to be an emotional rollercoaster. Not only is it the end of these characters stories (at least for now), but there is the massive loss of Carrie Fisher. This was supposed to be the film that focused on Leia and ending her story. Unfortunately Carrie wasn’t here to end it but according to her daughter, the film is “magical” and does a great service to our favorite General. I’m catching on to these “magical” comments – I sure hope the film is truly that.
It wouldn’t be a Star Wars post from me without a little bit of speculation! Rey’s hair looks like an updated version of her original style and I absolutely love it. It could symbolize her embracing her past while facing the future. Additionally, Finn’s hair seems to be more natural. It appears he’s finally embracing who he is and what he stands for. It also looks like they’re heading back to a desert planet. Tattooine perhaps? I’m so excited to see where these characters end up and I’m hoping for a satisfying conclusion.
