This is what a reckoning sounds like. Star Wars Celebration 2022 is underway, and with it comes a slew of exciting announcements and reveals on upcoming Star Wars properties. We finally have a teaser trailer, official poster and premiere date for Andor, the highly anticipated limited series with Diego Luna reprising his role as rebel hero Cassian Andor!

Andor takes place five years before our titular hero steals our hearts in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Here’s a synopsis for the series per Disney Plus:

The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

The teaser maintains the gritty, somber feel of Rogue One, employing a darker cinematic palette. Hey, the Rebellion is on the horizon, and people are fed up with the tyrannical Empire. We see shots of folks ringing bells, essentially “sounding the alarms” for approaching danger.

Cassian Andor ducks and hides behind buildings, but it’s abundantly clear in the said teaser that Cassian’s contributions during the formative years of the Rebellion get him into trouble. Additionally, we glimpse Genevieve O’Reilly‘s Mon Mothma. Fiona Shaw appears as a mystery character, and I’m here for it.

We learned from Star Wars Celebration 2022 that not only are we getting 12 episodes of Andor, but filming will begin in November for 12 more episodes of the series, taking us right up to Rogue One. Luna learned during the Lucasfilm Showcase that he has more work to do, and we’re all about keeping Diego Luna employed in this house.

Andor stars Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. Check out the poster and trailer below, and witness the sparks of a revolution when the series premieres its first two episodes on Wednesday, August 31, only on Disney Plus.
