On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, the official Star Trek website revealed the remaining 2023 Trek release schedule. In addition, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been renewed for season 3, while Star Trek: Lower Decks has been renewed for a fifth season. Each upcoming SNW and LD season is confirmed to be 10 episodes long. Here’s a breakdown of what we know so far.

Trek in 2023

The first series return to look forward to will be Strange New Worlds. The second season premiere will make its debut on Thursday, June 15, 2023. New episodes will follow each Thursday. No new information about SNW season 2 was included in the article. However, we have already been promised “Moretegas” (more of Melissa Navia‘s Erica Ortegas). Furthermore, a crossover episode between SNW and LD directed by Jonathan Frakes has already been announced.

After Ensigns Beckett Mariner (Tawny Newsome) and Bradward Boimler (Jack Quaid) appear in SNW season 2, they’ll be returning to co-headline Star Trek: Lower Decks season 4. New plot details about LD season 4 were included in the article:

Star Trek: Lower Decks season 4 release date and renewal.
“C’mon, everybody, we got ‘Captain Clarity’ over here.”

“[In] season four of Lower Decks, an unknown force is destroying starships and threatening galactic peace. Luckily, the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos isn’t important enough for stuff like that! Instead, Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi (Noël Wells), Rutherford (Eugene Cordero) and Provisional Ensign T’Lyn (Gabrielle Ruiz) are keeping up with their Starfleet duties, avoiding malevolent computers, and getting stuck in a couple caves — all while encountering new and classic aliens along the way.”

This hints at the return of antagonists Agimus (Jeffrey Combs) and Peanut Hamper (Kether Donohue).

Finally, Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 is confirmed to arrive in Winter 2023. According to a Tweet by Aaron J. Waltke, like season 1, Prodigy season 2 will be 20 episodes long. However, it’s currently unclear whether it will be split into two parts, as was the first season. Meanwhile, Prodigy season 3 has yet to be confirmed.

Boldly Going (Some More)

The article also reconfirmed that Star Trek: Discovery season 5, the show’s final outing, will arrive in early 2024. Meanwhile, the series finale of Star Trek: Picard will air on April 20, 2023, meaning Trekkies will have less than 2 months between fresh Treks.
