Refraining from watching this Star Trek: Lower Decks episode would be illogical. Season 4, Episode 5, “Empathalogical Fallacies,” is a delightful T’Lyn-centric outing that gives her so much depth. Plus, there are partying Betazoids, a near-brush with the Romulan Neutral Zone and the Cerritos crew in perpetual party mode. Oh, and who can forget Worf-themed slam poetry with Boimler and the security team? This hilarious, action-packed, zany episode has it all.

I’ve compiled a list of my favorite quotes from “Empathalogical Fallacies” to celebrate our favorite Vulcan, who cannot repress her chaotic tendencies. Cerritos Strong!

MARINER: “Wait, is everyone getting weird all of a sudden? Why am I yelling?”

T’LYN: “This crew is always weird and yelling.”

Listen, we get real here at GGA. Real talk: Mariner’s (Tawny Newsome) yelling because the Cerritos‘ innate environment lends itself to yelling and general weirdness. Perhaps some high-spirited mischief. Maybe hijinks, but that might be taking it too far. And T’Lyn (Gabrielle Ruiz) is here to tell it like it is, just like we do. This crew is always weird and yelling, and we wouldn’t have them any other way.

Mariner pops her head into T'Lyn's room while she sits in the dark and side eyes her in Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4 Episode 5, "Empathalogical Fallacies."

DR. MIGLEEMO: “I said ‘regurgitated soup,’ you stupid f*cking replicator! This barely even tastes like the spit in my mother’s mouth!”

Wow, I can’t believe the replicator couldn’t produce regurgitated soup for the esteemed Dr. Migleemo (Paul F. Tompkins). If the future can’t replicate such a food item, I don’t want it. (I’m kidding.)

(Or am I?)

RANSOM: “She said I was too into it, and she shrugged me off. It’s like, could she not see these gains?”

Ransom (Jerry O’Connell) is a fascinating creature. At face value, he’s a vapid pretty boy obsessed with his appearance. However, we’ve learned over the seasons that the commander has more depth than he lets on. He’s also a talented officer who will have your back when the going gets tough. Nevertheless, this line killed me. I mean, look at those gains

MARINER: “I wish I could roundhouse kick this situation in the face, but I can’t. It is one of those rare types of problems that can’t be kicked.”

I love the idea of roundhouse kicking my problems in the face. I wish that were a catch-all type of solution for everything in my life. Imagine how simple life would be. I can see it now, and it makes me weep.

T’LYN: “I suppose by the transitive property, I, too, must be Vulcan as a motherf*cker.”

MARINER: “F*ck yeah. Logic, b*tch.”

Hey, if Spock’s dad was “Vulcan as a motherf*cker” with Bendii Syndrome, T’Lyn can be, too. Regardless of what happens, T’Lyn is Vulcan as an MFer because, you know, logic, b*tch. This exchange made me giggle.
