Star Trek: Lower Decks Comic, Lower Decks - Crew Handbook, and Lower Decks Campaign Guide covers.

In a Tweet sent on Tuesday, May 25, 2023, the official Star Trek Twitter page revealed the cover for the upcoming Star Trek: Lower Decks – Crew Handbook by Chris Farnell. The Crew Handbook is the latest Star Trek: Lower Decks tie-in book to be announced.

Scheduled for publication on October 24, 2023, the title will be released just before the anticipated release date for the Lower Decks season 4 finale on Paramount+.

Not too many details are currently known about the Crew Handbook. However, the official Titan Books webpage for the series states, “This hilarious and informative handbook will help you come to grips with the ship, your duties, and your fellow lower deckers, especially as they’ve generously left comments throughout.”

Meanwhile, Lower Decks creator and showrunner Mike McMahan did reveal an exciting element of the 176-page book via Twitter. McMahan Tweeted, “This book is full of jokes and art and designed to look like a PADD – so you can imagine being a real-life SPACE ENSIGN!!!”

A TTRPG in “The Least Dangerous Game” proves space is the funnest frontier.

In addition to the Crew Handbook, another exciting Lower Decks literary offering is just over the event horizon. The Star Trek: Adventures roleplaying game line from Modiphius Entertainment is adding Star Trek: Lower Decks elements.

Some Lower Decks digital elements are already available. However, a 240-page full-color hardcover Star Trek: Lower Decks Campaign Guide is scheduled for publication this summer. According to coverage on the official Star Trek website, the book will feature new art and information about life on the Lower Decks.

While both the Crew Handbook and the Campaign Guide are exciting, they both require patience. Fortunately, the Star Trek: Lower Decks comic by Ryan North, Chris Fenoglio, Johanna Nattalie, and Jake Wood and published by IDW is available as a Trade Paper Back (TPB) now
