Guys…It’s Happening! Star Trek: Discovery will begin shooting at the end of the month, January 24th!

After delays in production, Bryan Fuller leaving as showrunner, issues in casting, it’s finally coming together.

RELATED: EP 9 – Star Trek: Discovery, Memorable Female Characters with Guest Joseph Scrimshaw on Booze And Phasers announced that according to the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Toronto based union, Green Harvest will commence shooting January 24th. Red Shirts Always Die previously reported in June that Green Harvest is the code name for Star Trek: Discovery. Maybe they should Discover another code name, at this point…see what I did there?!

Actress Sonequa Martin-Green has been cast as Lt. Commander Rainsford,  Michelle Yeoh as Captain Georgiou, Anthony Rapp as Lt. Stamets, an astromycologist, fungus expert, Doug Jones as Lt. Saru, a Starfleet Science OfficerShazad Latif as Klingon Commanding Officer KolMary Chieffo as Klingon Battle Deck Commander, L’Rell and Chris Obi as Klingon leader, T’Kuvma. They are probably heading up to Toronto soon and good luck to all of them! We the fans, are excited and we do have high expectations about the future of Star Trek as a TV series. I personally have hope that it will be fun, if nothing else!
