STAR TREK: DISCOVERY has released the first cast photo of Michelle Yeoh as Captain Philippa Georgiou and Sonequa Martin-Green as First Officer Michael Turnham, on set and in costume.
When EW released the first photo, earlier today, one of the first things I took notice of was the old school communicator and tricorder. That was cool but the fact that it looks like they’re on Jakku and dressed up as Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I’m not so sure about.

It is definitely confusing and in my opinion, has the look of the movies rather than it’s television predecessors. The CBS upfronts are happening right now and supposedly a new teaser for Discovery should be happening at any moment.
On the positive side, we still don’t know anything…I’ll give it a chance. The cast is badass.
