Time to set phasers for inclusion and diversity, because Star Trek: Discovery has just launched their GLAAD collection! Season Three of the series introduced the franchise’s first non-binary character, Adira (Blu del Barrio), and the first transgender character, Gray (Ian Alexander).
Now, the show is continuing to honor Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry‘s vision of inclusion and diversity by launching their very own GLAAD collection at StarTrek.com. ViacomCBS will donate 100 percent of proceeds from sales to support GLAAD’s vital work in creating safer spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community.
There are three new items for sale at the StarTrek.com shop. A t-shirt bearing the DISCO Delta symbol awash in trans pride flag colors. Said t-shirt comes in three hues — gray, navy and purple. Next, the shop is selling a mug with the same DISCO Delta bearing trans pride flag colors. Lastly, and this one is my favorite, there’s a sherpa blanket with the DISCO Delta and trans pride flag colors that’s for purchase. Winter is coming, friends, and this blanket sure looks cozy enough for deep space.
