If you remember back to Season Four of The CW’s hit series, Arrow, you’ll immediately recall the villain Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), his vendetta against the Green Arrow and how he killed off one of the show’s main characters — Laurel Lance/Black Canary, played by Katie Cassidy.
However, in the last few moments of the mid-season finale for Arrow, we saw that perhaps Laurel Lance isn’t dead, as she all of a sudden showed up. All of us have been on pins and needles since then, wondering just how this character is suddenly back. Did Flashpoint somehow do this?
Is Laurel Lance really back?
This sneak peek, release just yesterday, answers that question with a resounding no. She is not back. Well, not the Laurel Lance that Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow are familiar with, as is evident in her attack on their base.
Also, she has actual sonic scream powers without the use of the techno-voicebox thing that Cisco created for her.
Finally, there’s the line at the end where Oliver says, “That’s not Laurel,” followed by her saying, “Finally. It’s about time somebody figured that out.”
Boom.
Not Laurel.
Well, not the Laurel we knew.
However, this does not exclude the possibility that this Laurel will turn over a new leaf and join the team. And then, we can finally have the Black Canary we’ve always wanted!
It’s entirely possible she’s from another earth, that she’s some meta-human doppelganger, that necromancy is involved in some way or maybe Alchemy had something to do with it. We won’t know until the show returns on January 25th.
He has two cats and knows all things about Doctor Strange but little else.
