Into the Spider-Noir
Lamorne Morris is stepping into the world of Marvel. As reported by Deadline, the Fargo and New Girl actor will be a series regular in Spider-Noir, starring opposite Nicolas Cage. The MGM+ and Prime Video live-action show sees Cage reprise his role of Spider-Man Noir, who made his animated debut in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The series is based on the Spider-Man Noir comic and was previously titled Noir.
Here’s a synopsis of the series per Amazon Studios:
“Spider-Noir tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”

Lamorne Morris
Morris will play Robbie Robertson in Spider-Noir. Deadline offers this as a character description:
“Morris’ Robbie Robertson is driven, hard-working, and won’t take no for an answer. A dedicated journalist trying to make it with the odds stacked against him as a Black professional in 1930s New York, he takes on riskier stories that no one else would touch in order to catch attention and a paycheck. He is willing to do whatever is necessary for his career.”
Morris is most known for starring as Winston Bishop in FOX’s New Girl from 2011 to 2018. He went on to headline Hulu’s Woke from 2020 to 2022 as Keef Knight. Recently, Morris portrayed Deputy Witt Farr in Season 5 of FX’s critically acclaimed drama Fargo. His other credits include Game Night, Jumanji: The Next Level and Call Me Kat. Morris also guest starred on the CBS comedy Ghosts this past spring as Saul.

The Crew Behind Spider-Noir
Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Enola Holmes) will helm and executive produce the series’ first two episodes. Oren Uziel (The Lost City, 22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (Marvel’s The Punisher, Shantaram) will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Uziel and Lightfoot developed Spider-Noir with the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse team—Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal. The aforementioned trio are also executive producers.
I’m excited to see Nicolas Cage and Lamorne Morris inhabit these characters. You can’t go wrong with more Spider-Man expansion in the Marvel universe.
