Spidey fans, you might want to sit down. On Tuesday, Sony Pictures and Marvel unveiled a new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it’s a doozy!

In the said trailer, we see Peter Parker (Tom Holland) struggle with the world knowing his identity. After a spell cast by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to restore his secret goes awry, familiar Spider-Man foes cross over from their respective universes.

We get better glimpses of Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) and Green Goblin (although Willem Dafoe isn’t credited in the film). In addition, we see Electro (Jamie Foxx), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) and Lizard (Rhys Ifans). Even J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons) makes an appearance.

Amid all the action and world-saving, the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer blesses us with a few corny jokes.

There’s Strange’s demand that Peter, MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) “Scooby-Doo this crap,” and the trio pokes fun at Doc Ock’s real name.

Overall, the trailer radiates an aura of hopelessness. Peter tries to fight these villains simultaneously, and Strange fails to prevent these multiverse “visitors” from slipping through the cracks courtesy of the botched spell.

Of course, most fans expected to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield make an appearance, but Sony and Marvel might not want to reveal all the eggs in their basket. There’s also the possibility they aren’t in the film at all. Who knows? All we can do is speculate.

Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Benedict Cumberbatch and Marisa Tomei. Watch our web-slinging protagonist swing into the fray when the flick premieres on Friday, December 17.
