Sony streamed their third State of Play for 2024, showing off about 30 minutes worth of content for gamers to look forward to. This May 2024 State of Play stream contained news and updates about games headed to PS5 and the PSVR2.
PlayStation owners received updates and first looks at some of the most anticipated games. Below is a roundup of our most notable announcements, such as Marvel Rivals, Monster Hunter Wilds, a reveal for a brand-new Astro Bot game and more.

Concord
Let’s talk about Concord first. The previously announced 5v5 multiplayer shooter got a new cinematic teaser trailer. The impressively rendered trailer shows a galactic adventure and character banter that would make the Guardians of the Galaxy proud.
Concord releases for PC and PS5 on August 23. If you want to play early, the studio behind the game, Firewalk Studios, will host a Beta in July.
Infinity Nikki
We got our first preview at Infinity Nikki, the vibrant open-world RPG that boasts a collaboration with former Zelda director Kentaro Tominaga. Infinity Nikki will see the titular character arrive on the continent of Miraland. Along with her friend Momo, she will travel to various nations with a different history and culture to explore. There’s no firm release date, but a beta test will happen by the end of the year.

Ballad of Antara
Ballad of Antara had the most unique showing at the State of Play. A faraway land is on the verge of being lost to a conflict from eons ago and the invasion that followed it. Embark on a perilous journey and seek towering divine creatures to reclaim the twisted and lost fundamentals of the world.
Ballad of Antara is an upcoming fantasy-action RPG from TipsWorks Studio and Infoldgames, releasing in 2025 on PlayStation 5.
Marvel Rivals
Marvel Rivals, a superhero team-focused PvP shooter featuring Marvel Comics superheroes, landed at one epic knee in the middle of State of Play. The console release still has no premiere date, but we did get another look at how this hero shooter will play.

Silent Hill 2 (Remake)
Fans of the long-standing horror series Silent Hill were treated to an official release date and first-look trailer for the Silent Hill 2 remake. The trailer contains notable differences, so we are anxiously awaiting the release.
Konami revealed that Silent Hill 2 remake will be released on October 8 for PC and PS5.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom showed up for the Monster Hunter fans, dropping the first trailer for the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds. The trailer showed fresh faces, new monsters and gorgeous environments to explore. It promises an adventure where no two hunts are ever the same.
There’s no firm release date yet; however, Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC/Steam sometime in 2025.

Astro Bot
Developer Team Asobi’s next project, Astro Bot, debuted at the State of Play with an adorable gameplay trailer. Charge your batteries and burst into a brand-new, supersized adventure with ASTRO across over 50 worlds with all the game references and catchy music the series is known for.
Fans don’t have long to wait; Astro Bot releases for PS5 on September 6, 2024.
