Solo: A Star Wars Story has brought on a very important component to any Star Wars film. That, of course, is a John Williams theme. This will be the veteran composer’s ninth Star Wars theme.
Williams confirmed his work on Solo while discussing his work on The Last Jedi in an interview with Variety. “The present plan is that I’m writing a theme for Han Solo, and John Powell is going to write the score, which he’ll do brilliantly,” Williams said. Williams has written on every other Star Wars film except 2016’s Rogue One.

John Powell is known for his work on How to Train Your Dragon, the Bourne films and this year’s Ferdinand. We’ve known that Powell would be heading up the score since this summer, so the addition of Williams’ theme is icing on the cake for fans of the quintessential Star Wars sound.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to hit theaters on May 25th, 2018.
