SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Synopsis Reveals Exactly What We Were Thinking

Solo: A Star Wars Story has had some bumps along the road, to put it nicely. The spin-off film hit some major production problems (namely firing the directors) but has been rather silent since wrapping production. And now after months of more silence, we finally learned the official synopsis of the film from StarWars.com. It’s exactly what we all thought it was going to be. Before we talk about it, let’s read it.

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

For one, it doesn’t give too much away, which is nice. And second, it’s exactly what we thought was going to happen. So it doesn’t warrant any surprises here. What I would want to know is the place he has among the cast of characters we don’t know yet. How does Emilia Clarke’s still unnamed character fit into his story? Why doesn’t Han see anyone outside of Lando ever again after the events of the film? We’ll hopefully get more answers from the trailer. And speaking of that…

We only have a few months before release and still no trailer! We have our fingers crossed that we’ll get one very soon. I’m not excited about this movie but I’m not outright hating it, either. I plan to give this one a chance. But it’s hard to be excited for a story that I feel that I already know. I am looking forward to see how Donald Glover and Alden Ehrenreich do in their roles, too. So fingers crossed for so many things, friends!
