Panjabi told TVLine that Asha believes she’s “the last person on Earth;” however, we know that’s not true. According to Panjabi, Asha is a survivalist, and, as an actress, she drew inspiration from her dog.
I looked to my dog Mr. Q, a rescue dog, for inspiration. He managed to survive on the streets for months before he was rescued. He eyed everything as a potential threat. It was all about survival.
Additionally, Asha survives “under extreme conditions,” and she’s discovered by “someone from the train,” which probably goes as well as you’d expect for someone who thought they were the last person alive.
As for who discovers Asha, my money was initially on Melanie (Jennifer Connelly). While the Season Two finale made us think Melanie died, we know Connelly’s returning for the upcoming outing. Perhaps she wandered “into the white” and found Asha.
The Season Two finale found Layton (Daveed Diggs) and his ragtag team squaring off against the nefarious Wilford (Sean Bean) in an explosive fight resulting in Snowpiercer/Big Alice branching off into two trains. Layton takes his crew on a 10-car “pirate train” to find Melanie and secure proof that the Earth reheats itself.
You can take a gander at the TVLine photos of Asha below. Be sure to tune in on Monday, January 24, 2022, for the Season Three premiere of Snowpiercer, only on TNT.
