Kevin Smith directed last night’s episode of The Flash, which was written by X-Men: First Class and Thor writer, Zack Stentz and it was, very easily, one of the most emotional episodes of the series up to date.

If you remember, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) died. Well, not actually die, but evaporated into thin air to disappear into the Speed Force — which then spoke to him by taking the form of people who loved him. The episode ended up taking us through the five stages of grief, seeing Barry finally confront the death of his mother and how he could have saved her but didn’t.

As it turns out, Barry had never really fully lost the Speed Force as he was fated to be The Flash, but he had to deal with his grief to finally fully become the best version of himself he can be.

And now, we’ve got this trailer for next week’s episode of the CW’s hit DC series, titled “Invincible,” where we see that Black Canary’s Earth-2 doppelgänger, Black Siren, is teamed-up with Zoom (Teddy Sears) and is terrorizing Central City. But, then, there are also about a thousand other meta-humans all doing their best to burn the city to the ground.

It looks to be a pretty epic episode, and, it’s the penultimate one of the season, so there’s a lot going down.

After Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) unleashes an army of Earth-2 meta-humans on Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is shaken when he sees their leader is the Black Canary’s Earth-2 doppelganger, the Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy). Meanwhile, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) takes to the streets to help The Flash stop the meta-humans, which worries Joe (Jesse L. Martin). Iris (Candice Patton) and Henry (guest star John Wesley Shipp) are concerned about Barry taking on Zoom.
