In the mid-season finale for CW’s hit series, The Flash, we saw Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) struggling with some premonitions Savitar, the self-proclaimed God of Speed had given to him, specifically about a possible future death. Also, he prophesied that one of his own team would betray them all. But despite this pain and confusion, the team was able to pull out a victory.
But in this sneak peek clip at the mid-season premiere, “Borrowing Problems from the Future,” we see that maybe some of the damage is already done — Barry doesn’t trust Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) in the field. It seems, by this clip, that the two speedsters were taking care of some threat and that Wally was a bit more the hero in this instance. While the rest of the team congratulates Wally on, not only his heroics, but also saving Barry from whatever they were fighting, Barry is upset with him. Apparently, Barry gave Wally some orders and Wally did not follow them.
Is this frustration with Wally coming from a place of embarrassment or feeling like he’s being replaced, or is it coming from a place of mistrust? Does Barry fear that Wally could be the one to betray him?
We’ll have to wait until January 24th to really find out.
