Welcome to this week’s installment of F2P Friday, where we highlight our favorite Free-2-Play games. The video game market is oversaturated, and sometimes, hidden gems fall through the cracks. This is where we dig for you and feature a new F2P game we know you will enjoy every week. Let’s dive in.

Slime Knight

You are a humble slime that has recently found refuge for you and your family in a small village. Everything seems peaceful until a gigantic worm emerges from the deep underground and devours the entire civilization in one gulp.
Separated from your family, you awaken inside the beast’s maw and discover the corpse of a knight wearing a suit of armor.

After imbuing the carcass with your slimy essence, you can deftly maneuver around the hostile creatures that lurk around you and fight back with your stretchy, toxic appendages. Your family must be deeper inside the belly of this beast. Will you fight your way through and rescue them before it’s too late?

The Basics

Let’s get down to basics. At its core, Slime Knight is a top-down, adventure-style horde game with an interesting premise and unique gameplay. Jiggle into the boots of the Slime Knight, a skeleton that is being supported by an avenging slime. The slightest touch of your gooey essence will damage almost anything it touches.

Use this to your advantage and take enemies by surprise by stretching your arm out and whipping it in their direction. If combat isn’t your strongest suit, devouring your enemies might be more of your play style.
Different enemies grant different abilities when devoured, so experiment and plan your targets.

Why Should I Play?

Why should you play Slime Knight? The concept for this game is interesting; absorbing enemy powers with your slime and then using your stretchy form to swing your arm like a whip isn’t anything like I’ve played before. It reminds me oddly of a cross between Kirby and Journey of the Prairie King.

Ready to devour Slime Knight for yourself? You can download it from Steam for free here, and be sure to check out the trailer below. Comment to tell us what free games you’ve been playing too!
