What is scarier than a midlife crisis? How about moving out to the country and trying to find your muse only to come face to face with a ghost. Starz Shining Vale is precisely this. It dances the line between horror, comedy and family drama while paying homage to classic horror. The series is created by Jeff Astrof and Sharon Horgan and stars Courtney Cox, Greg Kinnear and Mira Sorvino. If this is enough to catch your eye, the trailer is sure to keep you invested until it hits the air.
In a brand new trailer for Shining Vale, we get our first look at what to expect to see within the series. It opens as Pat (Cox) and Terry Phelps (Kinnear) leave their life in the city behind for a small-town, old Victorian mansion. Pat is a struggling author who hasn’t written anything meaningful in years and her publisher is ready to pull the plug unless she can get the ball rolling. But it isn’t just her writing that has her struggling. It seems that Pat’s family life is on a path of destruction after her affair and inability to connect with her children.

The move to Shining Vale is meant to fix everything. But what Pat didn’t expect was to come face to ghost face with Rosemary (Sorvino). She was a fifties housewife who happened to be a part of a triple murder-suicide. No wonder that agent was so motivated to get this house off their hands. With Rosemary by her side, Pat seems to have found her muse and kicks off writing her next novel, but at what cost? I think Terry should be worried that his wife is running around the house with an ax in her hands like The Shining.
Shining Vale will release its first two episodes on Starz starting March 6, 2022. Check out the trailer below! What do you think of this new horror-comedy? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
