If you saw A Quiet Place, and liked it, you’re looking forward to watching what is going to happen to the Abbott family as they move forward from the events of the first movie. We are. Now, A Quiet Place: Part II has a short but very enticing trailer to get us even more on board.
The teaser is only 30 seconds long. And, it doesn’t give us a lot of detail. But, there are clues to what lies ahead. Evelyn (Emily Blunt), Reagan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe) are on the move… slowly. They’re armed, they know where they’re going and have a map to get there. They have to cross a threshold. Carrying their belongings on a sand path, they come to the end and they go beyond. They are not, however, carrying a baby.
Where is the baby!?! All that work to birth a baby when sound hunting monsters are on the loose and… no baby? Blunt does look to be carrying an infant in the poster for the sequel… so we can assume that the baby is there at some point, for some period of time. Oof. Where’s the baby?
Perhaps the baby succumbs to whatever the new threat is. Details have not been released on new monsters or human threats. But, Cillian Murphy has been cast as a “mysterious man” and the line from Paramount of the movie says this:
“Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.”
We may find out more when a full-length trailer hits screens in the beginning of the year. That trailer is said to be due out on January 1. A Quiet Place: Part II will silently pad into theaters on March 20, 2020.
