We have it on good authority you’ll like Tatiana Maslany when she’s angry. On Tuesday, Marvel blessed us with the official trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law while Disney held its upfront presentation in New York City.
Bob Chapek, the entertainment juggernaut’s CEO, hailed Disney as “the most powerful force in the industry.” At the same time, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for the Disney Plus series starring Maslany as Jennifer Walters.
We see Jennifer Walters living the high life as a lawyer in the trailer. But not everything is as it seems, and Jennifer’s boss asks her to head a new division at her company specializing in superhuman law. Jennifer mentions her “frustrating family,” including her cousin Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo).
In the comics, a mobster shoots Jennifer, so Bruce saves her with a blood transfusion. Naturally, his Hulk-ified blood transforms her into She-Hulk.
Then, Bruce trains Jennifer to harness her abilities. We glimpse Tim Roth reprising his role from The Incredible Hulk as Emil Blonsky, a.k.a. Abomination. But that’s not all! Renée Elise Goldsberry briefly appears as Amelia, and in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, Marvel blesses us with a shot of Jameela Jamil as Titania, She-Hulk’s archnemesis.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law takes on the tone Marvel is famous for — it’s lighthearted, sarcastic, witty and chock full of high-stakes action. It also has a self-deprecating style, and I appreciate it when shows don’t take themselves too seriously. I’m already in love with Jennifer based on this trailer alone. Plus, Tatiana Maslany is one of the industry’s most versatile performers, and I know she’ll take this role to the next level.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law stars Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Jameela Jamil, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra and Tim Roth. Check out the official poster and exciting trailer below, and brace yourselves for a new hero when the series crash-lands on Disney Plus on Wednesday, August 17.
