DC FanDome opened a comic book can of worms that cannot be closed on Saturday. The cast of Shazam! was just one of many DC properties to spill the beans regarding its impending film productions. Besides star Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Meagan Good, Jack Dylan Grazer, Faithe Herman, Adam Brody, director David F. Sandberg, and Sinbad all made appearances. Why Sinbad? Because many people thought the actor starred in a film also called Shazam! in the ’90s. Small world! Well, probably more like the Mandela Effect…
Now, according to Deadline, Levi initially took his place in the Hall of Heroes upon the virtual dais. Levi remained mum on everything except the sequel title — Fury of the Gods. Everyone else soon joined Levi to emphasize just how much they can’t discuss the Shazam! sequel. Then, Herman drew out the title for folks at home to read.

Shazam! blasted into theaters last year, racking up a cool $159.1 million in box office revenue on an international scale. The flick followed teenager Billy Batson as he inadvertently gains the ability to transform into a hero named Shazam. Batson is able to tap into his heroic capabilities by uttering the word, “Shazam!” As per the comic book source material, “Shazam!” is an acronym for Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury.
If you’ll recall, the film ended with Superman joining Batson’s foster brother for lunch. An end credit scene introduced the formidable Mister Mind, an arch nemesis of Shazam in the comic books.
I, for one, am ecstatic for the sequel. Shazam! is easily one of my favorite DC flicks thus far. Fury of the Gods is sure to deliver on an epic level akin to its predecessor.
