SHAZAM! Gets Destructive in New Still Image

Promotion is really starting to heat up for the new kid in town. Shazam! debuted a new still image, thanks to Empire, that gives us a sense that Billy Batson is going to be in for one heck of a fight. It definitely won’t be without some property damage, either.

The new image features the hero Shazam, standing in a pile of rubble. It’s not made clear if this was due to him falling and landing with a hard impact or something being thrown at him. Either way, it’s a sizeable crater. It also looks like this battle will be taking place in the carnival we’ve seen in the teaser trailers. Is he battling Mark Strong‘s Dr. Sivana or is there another enemy being thrown his way? So many questions, so little answers!

The image does give the relief that this won’t be a straight up comedy film. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! However, I’m really looking forward to seeing how Billy Batson handles these fights. He is a kid, afterall. Will that bring him to an advantage because he thinks like a kid or will it be his detriment? Plus I’m very curious to see what powers they’re going to give him (outside of flight, bullet immunity, and lightning). I’m really looking forward to it!
