Warner Bros Pictures and DC Comics are back with a new trailer and poster for the highly anticipated sequel, Shazam! Fury of the Gods. It is a follow-up to the original Shazam! which gave us our first look at the pint-sized-turned-adult superhero played by Zachary Levi and Asher Angel. The sequel comes from New Line Cinema, director David F. Sandberg, and producer Peter Safran.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ newest trailer gives us a better look at the gritty action we can expect in the sequel. The Daughters of Atlas have come to hunt down Billy and his family, and they aren’t holding back. There are a few bits and pieces of action sequences that look great, mixed in with witty comebacks and comedy that the Shazam! franchise is known for. But great power always comes at a cost, and the trailer gives us the idea that this cost might be Billy’s life.

It will be interesting to see how Shazam! Fury of the Gods finds its footing among the darker-toned DC films. From this new trailer, it looks like they are hoping to give the sequel a bit more emotional grit. We hope that it doesn’t fall flat and lose all of the charm that comes with having a kid as a superhero.

Levi and Angel are joined by Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, D.J. Cotrona and Grace Caroline Currey. We will also see Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Marta Milans, Cooper Andrews and Djimon Hounsou. And joining the Shazam! Fury of the Gods cast are Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu and Helen Mirren.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will crash into theaters on March 17, 2023. Check out the new trailer and poster art below. Are you excited about the new DC film? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
