With a new teaser on Wednesday and now a brand new poster and featurette today, Marvel is trying to get our eyes and minds on their upcoming martial arts-based action-adventure film. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings brings to life the story of Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), a martial arts master who is drawn back into his father’s mysterious world.

In the new featurette, Kevin Fiege ties this upcoming movie all the way back to the beginning – Iron Man. When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) was trapped in the desert and forced to make weapons, it was for the Ten Rings Organization. But stories took a different direction and the Ten Rings Organization faded into the background of the MCU.
That is, of course, until now. Fiege went on to say that they have wanted to dive into this world for quite a while and now they have the chance. Liu and Awkwafina shared how excited they are to be a part of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Liu even shared that he tweeted at Marvel when they announced the film was in production. Thankfully, Marvel must have spotted it!
As a huge fan of martial arts and the MCU, this is the film I have been waiting for. And at first, I was worried that a franchise built on more superhero-styled films would make this feel more like other films within the universe. But I am happy to report that every new piece of media that has come out has proved me wrong. This is going to be one epic story.
