The Walking Dead Season 8 is just weeks away. Geek Girl Authority has been taking a look at the awesomeness that makes the show one of the best on TV.
Week one we talked about the most shocking deaths from each of the seven seasons. Then, we identified the seven strongest women followed by the seven luckiest people of TWD.
RELATED: The 7 Luckiest People on THE WALKING DEAD
This week, we look at the craziest, most exciting…basically The OMG moments of each season.

(Background) (L-R) Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Carol (Melissa Suzanne McBride), Glenn (Steven Yeun), Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies) and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs)
Season 1 – The CDC Explosion.
To be honest, the fact that the dead had risen was a major OMG moment. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang thought maybe the safest place would be the CDC. Luckily, they made it to the CDC safely and Dr. Edwin Jenner (Noah Emmerich) actually let them in.
After a good meal, complete with wine, the group took hot showers. They were set up in air conditioned rooms with nice, comfy beds. What should have been a moment of relief quickly turned into panic.
Rick and the gang may have found the safest place on earth, but they found it at the wrong time. The generators in the CDC were running out of fuel. When the generators completely stopped, the facility was set to decontaminate to keep the viruses and diseases in the facility from spreading.
Jenner told the group they only had minutes to live. Rick and his group scrambled to get out of the building. It took a grenade to shatter the glass to the outside. They barely made it to their vehicles when the building exploded. Dr. Jenner and original group member Jacqui (Jeryl Prescott) died in the explosion.

Season 2 – Otis shoots Carl
It’s only natural to be in awe of nature. So when Carl (Chandler Riggs) came face to face with a deer, he did what any kid would have done. The problem with finding a deer in the woods is that there is probably a deer hunter close by. That’s when it happened. Otis (Pruitt Taylor Vince) shot Carl.
Why was Carl in the woods? Well…you see what happened was…in Season 2, the group had just escaped the CDC explosion. They ran into a roadblock..literally…lots of abandoned cars parked on the road. So they get out, to move the cars and a walker horde approaches. They hide under the cars. A walker found Sophia (Madison Lintz) and she ran away from it, into the woods.
The group was searching for her when Carl, Rick and Shane (Jon Bernthal), spotted the deer. Carl slowly and calmly inched his way to the deer so he could pet it. Everyone was shocked when Carl and the deer fell to the ground from a gunshot wound. The bullet went through the deer and hit Carl. Rick and Shane followed Otis to a Hershel’s (Scott Wilson) farm. To make matters worse, the bullet had broken up into six fragments. The only way to get all of the fragments out was to do surgery.
Luckily, Hershel got the equipment he needed to do the surgery and Carl lived. As for Otis…well, I guess you could say, a sacrifice had to be made for that equipment.

Season 3 – Michonne stabs the Governor in the eye
Michonne (Danai Gurira) did not like the Governor (David Morrissey) from the moment she met him. Andrea (Laurie Holden), on the other hand, was smitten. (Gross!) The Governor was a smooth talker. He helped turn Woodbury into a safe community and the community looked at him as their leader. In all appearances, he seemed to have it all figured out.
The people didn’t know that the Governor was a little sick in the head. He had a secret room in his apartment where he kept an aquarium wall of beheaded walkers and a special room for his infected daughter Penny. The Governor believed that the dead still had some sense of who they were when they were alive. He even had someone running tests to prove his theory. He wanted Penny to be his little girl again.
Michonne found his secret room. And she found Penny. Just as Michonne was about to release Penny from her zombie state, the Governor found them. He begged Michonne not to kill his little girl. She did it anyway by stabbing Penny in the head with her katana.
The Governor attacked Michonne, knocking over his aquariums. The Gov tries to choke Michonne and she grabs a shard of glass. Michonne stabs the Governor in the eye and reaches for her katana. Andrea (eye roll) prevents Michonne from killing the Governor by pulling a gun on her. Michonne slowly walks past Andrea and leaves.

Season 4 – Rick vs. the Marauder
Life after the prison was tough. The group was separated, but each had found a sign that lead to a possible sanctuary. Along the way, Rick and Carl had set up in an abandoned house. Rick was badly hurt and needed to recuperate before moving on. Michonne found them and helped Carl take care of Rick.
One day, while Michonne and Carl were out searching for supplies, a group of marauders showed up at the same house. Rick had a feeling these men were no good so he hid from them. Rick was spotted by one of the men, but another man came along and knocked the first guy out. He slowly made his way out of the house, but not before killing one of the guys. He found Carl and Michonne and they quickly left the neighborhood.
The marauders caught up to Rick, Michonne and Carl in the woods. The man who saw Rick in the house confirmed that he is the one who killed their friend.
Plot twist: Daryl (Norman Reedus) was with the marauders when they find Rick. He tries to stop them from hurting anyone. The leader, Joe (Jeff Kober) decides to kill Daryl, rape Carl and Michonne, and make Rick watch before killing him.
One of the marauders grabs Carl and Rick cannot not take it. He fights back against Joe. Michonne and Daryl fight back against the others. Rick is pinned down by Joe. Joes asks what is Rick going to do. Rick shocks him by biting a chunk out of Joe’s neck, killing him.
The other marauders stop what they are doing and look at Rick. That’s when Daryl and Michonne get rid of the others and Rick stabs the guy who has Carl. You just don’t mess with Rick Grimes’ kids!

Season 5 – Dawn kills Beth
Beth (Emily Kinney) and Daryl left the prison together. They found shelter at a cemetery, but upon being attacked by a group of walkers, they got separated. When Daryl got out of the cemetery, he saw a car with a cross painted on the back drive away. Yep…they took Beth.
Beth ended up at Grady hospital in Atlanta. The place is run by people dressed as cops. They make the patients serve the cops as payment for saving their lives. Dawn (Christine Woods) is the leader, and she’s tough. But she is constantly reminding Beth that she owes her something. As safe as the hospital is, Beth does not want to be there.
She makes a friend, Noah (Tyler James Williams) and helps him escape. She is punished for her actions and is constantly trying to find another way out.
Noah finds Daryl and Carol (Melissa McBride) and tells them that Beth is at Grady. Carol is run over and taken to Grady. Daryl tells Rick and the group what happened and they make a trip to get Beth and Carol back.
They arrange for a meeting with Dawn. She allows Beth and Carol to leave, but she wants Noah back. Noah agrees, and hugs Beth. Dawn makes a snarky comment about everyone coming back and Beth lunges at Dawn with a pair of surgical scissors. Dawn reacts by pulling her gun and shooting Beth in the head.
Everyone is shocked, including Dawn. Daryl pulls his gun and shoots Dawn in the head.
Daryl carries Beth out of the hospital just as Maggie (Lauren Cohen) arrives to meet her sister. Sad day…

Season 6 – Richonne
When Michonne first appeared at the prison, Rick did not want her there. The Governor wanted to kill Michonne for killing his daughter. He offered to leave Rick and the prison alone if they turned her over. Rick almost did it, until Carl told him that Michonne was one of them.
Since season 3, Rick has learned to completely trust only a handful of people. Michonne is one of a few that he knows he count on to do anything he asks. And if Rick is wrong about something, Michonne is not afraid to tell him. And! He knows that Michonne loves Carl and Judith. She would do anything to protect them.
When the group settled into Alexandria, their friendship took a turn. Rick was little more flirty. Michonne smiled a lot more. They were very comfortable living together, but no one thought anything of it. They shared some deep conversations and confessions with each other; laugh and cry together; and fight together. Michonne and Rick are best friends. No one knew Michonne better than Rick.
It happened after Rick spent a day with Daryl chasing Jesus (Tom Payne) around. They were on a supply run. The only thing Michonne asked for was toothpaste. Unfortunately, Rick lost the toothpaste, but he found some mints.
Rick returned home and sat on the couch. Michonne joined him. They both had a rough day that neither wants to talk about. He gives her the mints and they laugh. He holds her hand and that’s what sparked the kiss!
The fandom went nuts! I still squeal when I watch that episode!
Season 7 – Shiva saves Carl
From the beginning, Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan) let Rick and the others know that he was in charge. He wanted ALL of Alexandria to bow to his will. Rick was defiant when he met Negan, saying he would kill him. “Maybe not today. Maybe not Tomorrow. But I’m going to kill you!”
Negan asserted his authority in the worst way. He killed Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), took Daryl, Eugene (Josh McDermitt), and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and the Saviors were allowed to do anything they wanted to the residents of Alexandria…almost anything.
It didn’t take long for everyone to decide they’d had enough of Negan. Rick secretly started looking for guns. He recruited the Hilltop community and the Scavengers to stand with him. They were going to fight back. They were going to kill Negan.
Unfortunately, Rick could not convince the Kingdom or Oceanside to join them. He did get Daryl back and secured a lot of guns. He felt he had what he needed to stand up to Negan.
The day came. Negan was on his way. Alexandria and the Scavengers stood at the gates ready to fight. What Rick didn’t know is that, the Scavenger leader, Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) made a second deal, with Negan. She turned on Rick at the wall.
Bullets start flying when Negan opens Sasha’s casket and Walker Sasha attacked him. Jadis pulled a gun on Rick and took him to Negan. Negan already has Carl kneeling on the ground. They put Rick next to Carl. Negan gives a speech about how disappointed he is. He says Rick underestimated him. Now he has to kill Carl. And then he’s going to break Rick’s hands.
Rick is defiant as ever. He tells Negan, once more, “I’m gonna kill you. Maybe not today. Maybe not Tomorrow. But nothing is going to change that. You’re already dead.” Negan stands behind Carl and pulls Lucille back, ready to swing at Carl’s head. AND SHIVA COMES OUT OF NOWHERE! She jumps on a Savior and eats his face.
Shiva the Tiger saves Carl, scares Negan, and leads the charge of The Kingdom and Hilltop!
OH MAN!
Season 8 is already intense. It’s All Out War between Rick and Negan. We’ve heard there will be some surprising deaths, Daryl goes rogue, lots of explosions, and the war will be over at the end of season 8. I’m sure we’re going to get a lot of OMG moments.
