The temperatures may be getting cooler, but September is still a hot month of video game releases! Whether you’re into space-faring adventures, impressive remasters, or even fighting as an Avenger; there is a game in September for you! Here are some of the releases all of us at GGA are looking forward to playing!

Spellbreak

Battlemages get ready – our time is now. Spellbreak, the multiplayer action spellcasting game from Proletariat Inc., is finally here. Players will be able to customize their battle mages with different loadouts based on magical attacks and either go solo or with friends to battle it out in the Hollow Lands. The abilities range from everything from fire-based attacks to water and lightning. They even feature abilities that look almost warlock-like. The gameplayer trailer that premiered during Gamescom 2020 showed off the epic battleground that reminds us of games like Fortnite and PUBG, but finally with magic. The best part is that this is a free-to-play game, so everyone can join in on the fun!

Spellbreak launches September 3, 2020 for PC through the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Marvel’s Avengers

If you’ve finished the MCU Infinity Saga and are looking for more Marvel content, you’re in luck! Crystal Dynamics‘ Marvel’s Avengers allows you to play as your favorite Avengers in a single-player story or on multiplayer missions with your friends. After the Avengers’ disbandment, it’s up to Kamala Khan to reunite our favorite heroes and save the world from the manipulative A.I.M. What makes this game exciting is that each hero has their own unique fighting style and moves. So you can knock around baddies with your hammer and lightning as Thor. Or crush your foes with the incredible strength of the Hulk. And gamers can look forward to playing as Kate Bishop, T’Challa and even Spider-Man in later updates. Honestly, all of us at GGA can’t wait to play as Ms. Marvel and our other favorite Avengers!

Marvel’s Avengers will release on September 4, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC through Steam.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2

Get ready to jump back into the canvas shoes of your favorite skateboarder! Earlier this year, the unexpected remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was announced, and now it is finally here! The most impressive aspect of this remaster is, of course, its visuals. Each skateboarder and level are now fantastically recaptured and retouched in current-gen graphics. Likewise, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 brings back the fan-favorite Create-A-Skater and Create-A-Park modes from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. And you can have fun skating with your friends via split-screen local multiplayer or online multiplayer. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to land that 900!

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 will be available on September 4th, 2020 for the PC through the Epic Games Store, Xbox One and PS4.

The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu

The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu isn’t just a new expansion; it looks like one of the best Sims concepts yet. EA has partnered with Lucasfilms to bring us an experience every Stars Wars fan has wanted. Get ready to fly your Sims across the galaxy in search of adventure. The new world is based on Disney World and Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge and features multiple iconic places. The new zone also includes an entirely new story for players that has them choosing sides in an ongoing battle between good and evil. Players can return home with their spoils and retell their victories to friends and family. Of course, we will be getting Star Wars-inspired clothes and items to deck out our Sims and their homes. Oh, and did we mention that you could meet Kylo Ren? Maybe convince him to marry you and return home? Hey, a girl can dream, right?!

The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will release on September 8, 2020 for PC and Mac through Origin, PS4 and the Xbox One.

The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon DLC

It’s time to return to the Halcyon system for some more space adventures! Peril on Gorgon is the first DLC release for Obsidian Entertainment‘s latest RPG The Outer Worlds. Throughout this first DLC expansion, players will travel to the mysterious Gorgon asteroid. Gorgon is packed with “noir-tinged adventure,” new weapons, new characters, and a brand new feature to The Outer Worlds: audio logs! These audio logs will provide a glimpse into life on Gorgon and appear throughout the DLC. And in addition to new Perks and Flaws, the game’s level cap has been moved up to 33. I personally cannot wait to explore Gorgon and uncover more Spacer’s Choice corporate secrets!

The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon will be available on September 9, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC through the Epic Games Store.

Mafia: Definitive Edition

Another highly anticipated remaster coming out this September is 2K Games‘ Mafia: Definitive Edition. This title is a stunning remaster of the original 2002 Mafia. In addition to the game’s original missions, players will experience an expanded story and new features, including the introduction of motorcycles! And if you’ve played Mafia 3, then Mafia: Definitive Edition‘s gameplay will feel very familiar.
