SEGA is turning 30, and as a birthday present, they’re miniaturizing their SEGA Genesis system for gamers everywhere.  Genesis Mini (Sega Mega Drive Mini in Japan) will come pre-loaded with 40 games.  Not all of those games have been announced, but there are a few things we do know.

The new tiny version of the classic 16-bit Genesis will come equipped with two wired three-button controllers, HDMI cable, and a USB power cable along with a normal power supply.  It’ll sell for $79.99 U.S.  The Mega Drive Mini will come with one six-button controller and sell for around $60 U.S., or $80 for two controllers.  Preorder links are coming soon.  That’s according to theverge.com

Genesis Mini will show up in the U.S. loaded with Altered Beast, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Comix Zone, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, Ecco the Dolphin, Gunstar Heroes, Shining Force, Sonic The Hedgehog, Space Harrier II, and ToeJam & Earl to be sure.

Japanese gamers will get Castlevania Bloodlines, Comix Zone, Gunstar Heroes, Madou Monogatari Ichi, Powerball, Puyo Puyo 2, Rent-a-Hero, Shining Force, Sonic 2, and Space Harrier II on the Mega Drive Mini.
