SDCC’s Season 7 The Walking Dead Trailer Pushes Your Tease Threshold – Oh, and There’s a Tiger!

The Walking Dead unveiled a new Season 7 trailer at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend. The first half of the trailer is a painful extension of last season’s finale. You know what I’m talking about – the Negan thing. The series spent a whole season building up to meeting Negan where the audience knew someone was going to die but the show didn’t come through and instead left us with a cliffhanger that wasn’t necessary. We here at GGA have now coined the phrase: Pulling a Negan (You can read about that here.) Does that mean we stopped loving the show? NOPE! Not a chance.

Like I said, the first half of the trailer is more of the tease. It’s very effective because it shows you why you love each character who was kneeling and in the path of Lucille at the end of Season 6. It prepares you for the fact that it is going to be incredibly painful when we lose whichever one it is to Negan.

The second half of the trailer expands on what Morgan and Carol are doing. We see where the people with the spears live – it’s a kingdom! With a ruler named King Ezekiel! AND A TIGER. We also see more of Negan’s followers and how they live (with fear and kneeling!).

The Walking Dead comes back on October 23rd so we all have plenty of time to stock up on kleenex and to prepare ourselves for the inevitable nightmares that will come with the season premiere.
