If you’ve ever wanted to participate in Comic Con but couldn’t make it to San Diego, well now here’s your chance. The powers that be at SDCC announced this year’s con will be an at-home version of the largest annual geek fest.
“Coming soon… Free parking, comfy chairs, personalized snacks, no lines, pets welcome, badges for all, and a front-row seat to… Comic-Con at Home,” declared the video announcement, posted on the SDCC Twitter account. You can watch the video below.

This announcement comes just a month after Comic Con announced the cancellation of the 2020 San Diego event due to the coronavirus pandemic shut down. “Continuous monitoring of health advisories and recent statements by the Governor of California have made it clear that it would not be safe to move forward with plans for this year.” Comic Con is expected to return to the San Diego Convention Center on July 22-25, 2021.
If you’ve ever been to San Diego Comic Con, you know there’s nothing like it. At the same time, I won’t miss those long lines for panels that I know I’m not getting into. However, the event has a lot to offer and draws thousands of people from around the world. But the virtual experience could prove to draw even more fans to the at-home event.
Details about the home event are still in the works. As soon as we hear anything, you know Geek Girl Authority will pass the news along.
