Peacock brought the action to SDCC 2023 with Twisted Metal, the comedic adaptation of the PlayStation video game series of the same name. Besides the world premiere of the first episode, the series also had a fun outdoor activation for fans to immerse themselves in the world of John Doe and Sweet Tooth.
Here’s a synopsis for the series per NBCUniversal Media Village:
“Twisted Metal, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”
Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller will host the world premiere screening of the first episode, followed by a Twisted Metal-inspired version of Kinda Funny’s interactive game, Kinda Feudy, at 10:00 p.m. PT today in Room 6DE.

Twisted Metal stars Anthony Mackie as John Doe, Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet, Thomas Haden Church as Agent Stone and Joe Seanoa as Sweet Tooth, with Will Arnett providing his voice. Guest stars include Neve Campbell as Raven, Tahj Vaughans as Mike, Mike Mitchell as Stu, Richard Cabral as Loud and Lou Beatty Jr. as Tommy.
