Anne Rice‘s Interview with the Vampire premiered in October 2022 to good reviews and was even renewed before its premiere date. The series follows the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) as he finally tells his tale to a reporter, Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). His story begins in 20th-century New Orleans, where Louis meets, falls for and is turned by the vampire Lestat du Lioncourt (Sam Reid). Together the vampires experience immortality in New Orleans and beyond.

The SDCC 2023 trailer opens with Daniel asking a complicated question: Where did we leave off? Louis and Armand (Assad Zaman) tell the story this time. The trailer shows Louis and Claudia (played in Season 2 by Delainey Hayles) crossing paths with the murderous Théâtre des Vampires and joining forces with Armand’s coven. It’s unclear whether or not the two will fit in with the Théâtre, especially once Claudia notices a portrait of their founder, none other than Lestat himself.

Interview with the Vampire Season 2 hasn’t finished filming yet, and production is currently shut down due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The show’s cast and crew canceled their Comic-Con panel in solidarity with the demands of both SAG-AFTRA and the WGA, but obviously, the trailer was still released. Aside from a “coming 2024” line at the end of the trailer, there’s no news yet on a Season 2 release date.
