There’s a new hero in town. During the “Comics are Fun for Everyone” panel at SDCC 2022 today, DC dropped the first peek at their upcoming animated Batman series. This is the studio’s first foray into animated series for preschool kids. And from what we have seen, it’s a pretty epic ride. Get it? Because Batwheels is all about cars. Okay, all silly Batdad jokes aside. The teaser gave us a look at the crime-fighting Bat team on wheels.

Batwheels will feature Batman and friends per usual, but the real stars of the show are the vehicles themselves. This includes Bam (the Batmobile), Bibi (the Batgirl Cycle), Redbird (Robin’s Sports car), Batwing (the Batwing Jet Plane) and buff (The Bat Truck). While Batman and the team are off fighting crime in the city, the superhero sidekicks on wheels will be fighting some crime on their own. Even as adults, we can’t help but be drawn in by the catchy theme song and exciting action.

It’s the perfect mix of cute kid content with the world of Batman. And it is the perfect way to get the younger generation invested in the fandom and hook them onto the comics, games, movies and much more. More Batman fans are always going to be a good thing. Batwheels will feature the incredible voice talents of Ethan Hawke as Batman, Jacob Bertrand as Bam the Batmobile, Gina Rodriguez as Catwoman and Xolo Maridueña as Snowy the Snowcrawler.

Batwheels will feature a half-hour origin special kicking off on Batman Day, September 17, 2022. It will air exclusively on Cartoonito on HBO Max and premiere later on Cartoon Network. The Secret Origin of the Batwheels will give us the backstory of how the team came to be. Check out the clip below. Are you excited about this new series?
