Time is up for The Flash. After experiencing a taste of parenthood, the West-Allens were struck with tragedy when the timeline changed and their daughter faded out of existence. They don’t know that the change also moved up the Flash’s (Grant Gustin) disappearance from 2024 to 2019. Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) got their groove back. Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) traded in his Vibe for a chance at a normal life, and the Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) made another daring escape. He promised to see the Flash in the next crisis.
The cast and producers were on hand at San Diego Comic Con to discuss season six.
The trailer was up first. It’s voiced by a villain called Bloodwork/Dr. Ramsey Russo played by Sendhil Ramamurthy. Dr. Ramsey is not a big fan of Team Flash. He says there is one battle against an eternal enemy…Death. But no one has to die. Ever. Again. You can watch the season six trailer below!

Wallace is the new showrunner. He promises that Bloodwork will be “the most terrifying villain that Team Flash has ever faced.” Dr. Ramsey is an acquaintance of Caitlin’s and has an interesting connection with Barry. They are both facing something difficult leading up to Crisis.
Wallace also said they are taking the 22 episode in the season and dividing it into two graphic novels. This means there will be a second baddie in season 6 with the second villain will appearing after the Crisis crossover.
Season six will pick up moments after the season five finale. The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) will appear in the first episode to warn Barry of the impending Crisis and ask him to sacrifice himself to stop it.
Barry and Iris will be handling their grief for Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) differently. Barry is trying to bury his feelings, but Iris feels they need to grief together as a couple.
Gustin said the series feels more mature now and he likes that. The Flash is getting a new suit, well, a new cowl on his suit. Gustin said, “It’s the closest it’s ever been to looking like the suit from the comics…it’s pretty dang cool.”

Valdes said Cisco is adjusting well to losing his powers. It’s a return to a similar role that he played in season one when he was powerless. He calls it ‘quarterbacking’, spending more time in the cortex with gadgets and stuff.
Patton said we will get to see the iconic Iris West-Allen that we know from the comics. There will be some new employees at the Citizen and they will arrive very soon. Patton said it’s been a long time coming. We’ll get to see more of Cisco’s girlfriend Kamilla (Victoria Park) who works for Iris. Wallace is very excited about it.
Panabaker said we will see more of Caitlin/Frostie as she tries to get a life. Killer Frost will be in the lab a bit more and she has a new super suit as well. Panabaker is also directing an episode this season!

Cavanagh will be playing three characters this season. Eobard Thawne will be one but Wallace wouldn’t reveal when we would see him. Then of course there’s the new Wells, who Cavanagh describes as “an adventurer, swashbuckler and sensual.” Oooookay.
Additionally there’s a new character called Pariah set to debut in the series. In the comic books, Pariah is integral in releasing Anti-Monitor into the universe. So expect to see him leading up to the Crisis!
Sawyer said we will get to see more of Ralph’s family life.
Wallace suggested Wally West/Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) will return for a couple of episodes. Yay! He will team up with the Flash to fight one of the greatest villains.
The cast were asked what they’ve learned from being on The Flash and the overall lesson was to not take life for granted, but don’t take life so seriously. Enjoy the time you have with the people you love.
