Syfy’s Van Helsing dropped some serious intel at San Diego Comic Con about its upcoming 4th season. The juicy news followed a bloody trailer that promises viewers new villains, more creepy rituals and unexpected heroes joining in the fight to reclaim the world.
In case you’re unfamiliar/missing out on this series, Van Helsing is a gender-bent re-imagination of the Van Helsing we all know and love. It takes place in a post apocalyptic world and follows Vanessa Van Helsing (Kelly Overton) and her band of misfits as they hunt down vampire baddies and unravel their dark motivations following ‘The Rising’. Death, drama and lots of blood? I’ve signed up and if you haven’t, you should too!
A good chunk of the cast and crew appeared on Thursday in SDCC’s Indigo Ballroom for the a panel. This lineup included stars Kelly Overton (calling in remotely), Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, Neal McDonough, Jennifer Cheon Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Aleks Paunovic, Keeya King and Nicole Munoz. Joining them were executive producers Chad Oakes and Michael Frislev. Throughout the panel the group appeared more than happy to spill the tea on what eager fans can expect this fall. Especially when it came to the casting.

Tricia Helfer was confirmed to be playing Dracula back in May. We now know that Nicole Munoz will be playing Jack and Keeya King as the Boss’ daughter, Violet. At one point Munoz and King teased that their characters are expected to butt heads quite a few times throughout the season. Lord, do I love me a post apocalyptic cat fight.
The next buzz of excitement came from the trailer. It’s four minutes long and absolutely littered with blood, guts, explosions, vampires feasting and a small child talking about murder. It’s a bloodbath that promises more challenges for Vanessa and her motley crew. Check out the carnage in the trailer below!
Van Helsing will return for its 13-episode 4th season this fall!
