The apocalypse train is leaving the station! Ahead of it’s debut SDCC panel, TBS’s Snowpiercer got some first look photos from EW yesterday. Based on the graphic novels, the story takes place seven years after humanity attempted to reverse the effects of global warming. Which, in effect, brought it on faster. So the remaining bits of humanity are riding around the world in a high speed train where class wars break out.
If all of these things sound familiar to you, that’s because there was a film also based on the graphic novels starring Chris Evans. However with a TV series, the showrunners will be able to play with the mounting tensions of the characters a lot more. Don’t call this a political show though. “We’re not a political show,” director James Hawes reminds us. “It is adventure storytelling. But it obviously touches on a lot of themes from the news.”
Check out the new images below and let us know what you think! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more SDCC news. Snowpiercer begins it’s route in spring of 2020.
